R11-19 Ruby Special Ops Missions

Sun Dec 23, 2018 1:33 am
Knocked this up for my clanmates so sharing here..

table of the ruby spec ops, along with some suggested SM's that are useful for them. Might be useful for people when SM's are being sold to cross reference etc.

Note: The squad are based on ones that have been easily available over the last year or so, but im sure there are several really good Spec Ops SM's that ive missed.

So if theres a particularly good one let me know and will add it

After doing that, I realise theres a real absence of good Sniper SM's

Which is kinda ironic

Fully understanding the math is rather helpful...

The most important bit that may get overlooked is that not countering a setback takes you down -5% each. If you consider that coordination or drone can take you up +10% then having a 5* coordination or drone that doesn't match a setback gets you to the same place as other 6* soldiers that do. Having a 5* coordination or drone is equal to other soldiers at 7* (as each level discrepancy is also 5%) with everything else being equal. Now this is not to say that other soldiers don't have their uses. Time reducing soldiers in particular can be used to great effect. I say this mainly to point out that if you have limited resources for upgrades and you are looking with a spec-ops focus, then matching setbacks might not be the most important. I would also throw out a warning on upgrading useful soldiers that are hard to get. Some soldiers may be better utilized if you have more of a lower tier rather than less of a high tier (REDD comes to mind).

oh i totally agree.

There are numerous missions where I dont match the setback to the counter because I have an alternate SM that is better. A 5* Sting without counter will always be better than a 4* Red with counter

The easy way (not telling you this, you know this) is to count the level of the SM, then add 1 for a matching counter, 1 for achiever, 2 for cooperation,

So a 5* Gorev with matching Counter is 8 (5+1+2)
A 6* Red who isnt matched would be 7 (6+1)

I was originally just doing the left hand side of the chart for my guys, as an assist when deciding which lower tier sm's to upgrade and which to not bother with, or if SM's in the shop are worth buying (which is a bigger decision to players with not many rubies). But I decided to do the right hand side with some of the more popular matched sm's as it may help some of the newer players.

I find figuring out who to upgrade to be the most difficult of all, at least for diamond point upgrades. Some might seem like good choices but in practice they don't get used as much as one might expect. For myself I find I don't use Atlas, Bugsy, Gabro, and WZBQF much despite them all being +10%. I still find ops to put them in just so they upgrade their xp but they often are not the most optimal or have overlapping setbacks with other soldiers i'm using. Obviously the choice depends on what players have at their disposal and what ops they are running. The best method I have come up with is to only upgrade +10% odds or -20% time soldiers (only talking about spec-ops focused upgrades here). The secondary criteria is if I have enough that loosing them to upgrades is not going to reduce the number of ops I normally run. Finally I try to figure out which ones are getting used the most because they have a frequently used setback. This normally shows by how many of them have been fully upgraded but not always. I have used Grant a ton in the past as he was the most common +10% assault and he became the quick go to. Nowadays he is mainly only getting used for two specific ops in my game.

The only set one I have is Tip Off/FFR - Grant/Bear/Redd/Gorev - i have three full teams of 5* (6* redd) so I can have three on the go at 150% at any one time

the rest, im very Deneb and Quint dependant

when i do tip off i have a 160% but i did two like that and didnt get any bonus, that really sucks missing that 100 rubies after having it up to  60% bonus

150% seems to pay out fair odds for me currently. I have run those ops litterally hundreds of times. I miss the days when 135% would pay above odds but I never expected that to last forever.

im not sure how many I have come in but its pretty regular.

I probably run 4-5 TO/FFR a day, usually get a couple of them come in.

Its rare I have a day with none, quite often have a day with three. Running them at between 140-150%

my tip/ffr team is always the same

Image

just depends how many synergies i have

im sure that the 8* sm's when they come out are gonna have really bad spec ops perks so we cant hit the 200% success mark
