UPDATE HIGHLIGHTS

Lunar New Year Festivities
  • NEW festive GH0ST skin
  • Special event with new milestone rewards, including the new GH0ST skin
  • Keep an eye out for promos and gifts to celebrate the Lunar New Year
  • Note: Lunar New Year festivities will start on Friday 16:00 GMT (11:00AM EST)
New Feature: Group Play
  • Play PVP Battles as a group! Up to 4 players can group up and play together
  • Create a group and invite players, or join an existing group of players
  • Easily invite clan mates via a special invite menu
  • You can also share a Group Code to friends you want to play with.
Note: Live Tournaments are cross-servers between NA/EU, but in group play where live PvP matches are concerned, this is not possible due to lag/ping concerns. Should this change in the future, we'll be sure to announce it on our social channels.

New Feature: Free Rewards
  • Earn free rewards by watching video ads
  • There are different caps for each of the different kinds of rewards as to how many ads can be watched daily to earn that reward
  • The 2 free crates have been replaced by this new system
Note: Since on Steam, no ads are allowed, Steam players will continue to get a free crate every 4 hours as before. 

Tournament Rules
  • Activate “TOURNAMENT RULES” when creating a Live Tournament to set all Agent levels to 20 for the duration of this tournament
 
GENERAL GAMEPLAY CHANGES
Agent Selection
  • Agent selection has been revamped: all Agents are now displayed without the need to scroll
  • Agents are now categorized according to their roles
  • Game mode event messages are now displayed during battle to better help players understand the status of the match
View Player Profiles
  • You can now view another player’s profile
  • Tap on a player name in the leaderboards or in the clan screen to access a player profile
League emblems on loading screen
  • Loading screens before battles now show player league emblems instead of trophies
Bug fixes and optimizations
  • This update comes with many bug fixes and optimizations. If you run into any issues please contact the Customer Care team from your in-game Settings or submit your feedback via the Gameloft forums
Special Ability Interrupts Reload
  • If you tap the ability button, it’ll now interrupt your reload
Creeper’s  Damage Boost Visual Changes
  • Players will now know when Creeper has a damage boost after he used Vortex Rattle
Medals
  • More medal-related achievements added to the achievements system
  • Added a tool tip to explain what each medal means. Tap on medals you’ve earned during a match at the end screen and it’ll explain how you earned it
Audio Improvements
  • When you are on a killstreak, your Agent’s voice line will be heard by everyone (enemies and teammates)
Bot changes
  • Bots now switch Agents dynamically based on the composition of your team. They will choose a role that’s lacking in your team
Matchmaking queue times
  • Previously, should the game be unable to find enough players to start a game before the timer's up, bots will be introduced into the match
  • We've made changes to this system so that higher league players will now wait longer in the lobby. This is done to improve the quality of matches for players so that more players (and hopefully ones that are closer to your trophy range) are matched up
  • Potential wait time will vary at different leagues. The higher your league, the longer the potential wait time
 
MAJOR AGENT BALANCING
KNOX
  • New Turret VFX with a laser that shows enemy turret
  • Turret health bar is now shown for enemies
  • Increased Turret health by 100%
  • Range decreased to 35 meters from 55 meters
  • Turret horizontal max movement decreased to 70 degrees from 90 degrees
  • The Turret starts shooting  10 degrees from target instead of 5 degrees
  • Turret accuracy decreased by 20%
  • Turret duration increased to 30 seconds from 25 seconds
Developer comments: Knox was seen as a controversial Agent but we believe we have found the sweet spot for him. Firstly we have improved the visual aspect of Knox’s turret allowing enemies to see a red laser and glint when the Turret is active. We have also doubled the Turret’s health. Now it has 6000HP and we have increased its duration to 30 seconds. On the other hand, we’ve reduced the turret accuracy and cone angle. Knox is a defender and we want his turret to reflect this. By having a low DPS and high health, we see the Turret kind of like another Defender that will slowly pick away and kill you if you do not take care of it.

MI-NU
  • Speed Link can now be stacked once with a 3-second cooldown
  • Damage increased by 8%
Developer comments: Mi-Nu has been underwhelming and we have noticed an issue with her damage scaling at higher levels. We have now fixed the scaling and have boosted her damage slightly. We have also provided her the ability to stack Speed Link once to encourage her agile playstyle.

SW1FT
  • Zone Warp Core Charge cost increased to 4 from 3
  • Weapon range decreased by 2 meters
Developer comments: Swift has risen to the top as being one of the most powerful Agents on the battlefield. We have adjusted Swift so that her Zone Warp should be used less and her encounters are now much closer.

REVOLV
  • Fire Rate increased by 7%
Developer comments: We believe Revolv needed a slight adjustment to her fire rate to help improve her overall DPS and Gunshow.

RONEN
  • Deflect Armor can now be stacked once
  • Increased Ronen’s health by 8%
  • Cooldown reduced to 7 seconds from 8 seconds
Developer comments: Ronen is in a much better place, however, we have added the ability to stack Deflect Armor and slightly increased his health to improve Ronen’s survivability as a Defender.

BLAZE
  • Mutant Grenade Core Charge cost decreased to 7 from 8
  • Increased his movement speed while shooting by 21%
Developer comments: We have decreased Blaze’s ability cost to improve the synergy between blaze and other agent abilities. We also slightly improved his movement speed while shooting to help finish off enemies that exit his range.

GH0ST
  • Neural Cloak Core Charge cost decreased to 5 from 6
  • Improved hip-spread accuracy by 20%
  • Improved shotgun cone angle by 10%
 
Developer comments: We have adjusted Ghost’s Core Charge for Neural Cloak back to 5 after seeing a drop in his performance. We have also improved his shotgun accuracy to help Ghost eliminate enemies at further ranges.
 
TOWER
  • Improved shotgun hip-spread accuracy by 20%
  • Improved shotgun cone angle by 10%
  • Health increased by 8%
Developer comments: We have slightly increased Tower’s health to help improve his survivability and increased his shotgun accuracy to bring him closer to his other counterparts. Tower without his shield seems to suffer in performance but with these changes he will never fall.
 
SEVEN
  • Increase sniper damage by 10%
  • Track Knife duration reduced to 8 seconds from 10 seconds
  • Track Knife radius reduced to 15 meters from 20 meters
Developer comments: Seven is an Agent that’s in a great place but we notice that her sniper lacks a tiny bit of damage to successfully finish targets off. We have also noticed that her Track Knife radius and duration is a bit too large and long. With these changes, Seven should be timing her dagger more accurately and sniping more deadly shots.
 
MONARK
  • Increased charge time by 9%
  • Reduced his fire rate by 11%
  • Reduced his health by 17%
Developer comments: Monark is the most deadly Agent in the game and we enjoy his 1 shot kill mechanic. However, we believe his follow up shots and the charge time are too quick to allow room for players to counter. We also believe that his high damage should be compensated with a lower health. With this change, Monark will still be one-shotting enemies at a more considerable pace and will be easier to deal with when confronted. But still when it comes to Monark... No one can compare!

JUKE
  • Decreased Touchdown damage by 33%
  • Touchdown Core Charge cost decreased to 6 from 7
Developer comments: We enjoy Juke’s playstyle and we wanted to embrace it. Juke is our best initiator and we want to see Touchdown used more often, but to do so we needed Touchdown to do less damage. With this change Juke will be stunning more enemies but causing less damage with it, allowing room for teammates to finish enemies off.

KULT
  • Venom Gadget Core Charge cost decreased to 5 from 6
  • Weapon range increased by 1 meter
  • Added 5 ammo to magazine
Developer comments: We have seen a fall in Kult’s performance and believe he needed a slight change to bring him back to where he was. With a slight increase to range and ammo, we shall see Kult engaging and finishing enemies off more easily.

KAN
  • Increased health by 8%
  • Increased Defensive Dome duration by 1 second
Developer comments: We noticed many of the defenders not performing as well compared to their counters and have decided to give most of them a health boost to help them survive a bit longer. Kan is a consistent Defender but we think his Dome should stay up a second longer to help provide Kan an edge when it comes to encounters.

Karen,
The changelog sounds great but what to do when you play on Asian server but 90% of your MCV friends are playing on NA/EU? is there no way we can play with them? My MC5 friends are all from US, Canada, UK, and some NA/EU region and i play on Asia server. Can't even join their clan because its on their own server. I understand the ping limitation but currently, is there no way we can play together?

Currently, no -- which was how it was since soft launch. Also in our last update, when tournaments were introduced, EU and NA could play together since they're in the same "silo". But even then, in those matches, the ping is usually much higher due to EU players having to be hosted on the NA servers or vice versa. I don't think we have a good solution to that, so people have been joining clans that are in their servers for the past 2 months now!

Oh well! Looks like i would need to find some MCV friends on asian server now. Back to square one for me. :P Definitely looking forward to the competitive eSports in future for asian server and hoping the indian ping issue will be fixed asap.

No really, I like the sound of this update. Bringing back some good agents and nerfing the annoying ones. Top work.

Did you guys fix the bug of picking up trophies in bounty mode? Not sure if that is ping issue or its a real bug..... ? Sometimes my phone just jumped out because of latency

seems much more balanced and pleased many people this general nerf. you are meeting the mcvs community requests and this makes the game grow! Of course some will complain! but the game is for congratulation now we expect an improvement in game rank! a clan rank with divisions: more trophies - more victories in tournaments and in normal pvp. also want to say that I hope that the game evolves more to the point of being able to have server SA ping is still very high for us even with good internet and to be able to have faith in a future investment.
