Clan creator leave for another clan

Hi.
Is it possible for a Clan creator to leave the Clan, join another Clan for a while and then come back to their created Clan?

Would the creators's Clan need to be handed to another Member as Leader in the interim?

Yes it is possible and yes, the clan leader would have to give the lead to another member before they left.
