I think, if not using an external comms app, making a point to stay active on guild chat. Trying to keep chat rather light hearted.
Before ToE starts, we post who needs tickets so those players can get what they need.
We always remind each other to give to the bank; we all win with donations. Give what you can.
Always attack each others SHs and critique.  Opinions help.  We share info.

Being charismatic enough to convince members not to quit after every update messes up something new. And as Really said use an outside chat app because trying to communicate using game chat is still a no go after what almost 3 years or so.

setting up guide lines for what is expected of others is important to respect each others time spent on the game. Especially in guild wars. A secondary app for communication is important but not completely necessary. You can give members a choice to join it or to just use guild chat. I feel contributions are just a "what ever you can spare" kind of thing. People need to grow and level and you should want that for them. Having fun with the game is most important. If its not fun them why play. Getting a good group of officers on your team helps tons. They feel a sense of responsibility and feel like they can be trusted. Just my two cents. Good luck.

Hi Isabella,
as a Guildleader of a TOP50 guild i think there are a lot of points to keep a guild running.
1. Use an Communication App like Line, Band etc. to keep in contact with your players. With these Apps you can share Screens or Videos to help other Players, organise you GW and create a bond between your guildmates.
2. Keep in mind what a guild is realy all about - compete with other guilds in Guild Wars. Thats one of the hard points in running a guild. Since GWs are on WE most players have other duties with their families. You have to motivate them to help the guild by spending time on DH5 to achive a goal in GW. Thats not easy because of the crappy rewards you get for spending a WE playing DH5 in 18-20 GWs. Without the experience of playing GW together your guild will fall apart - because GW is the only aspect of the game were your guild works together.
3. Help other Players - besides of bonding for GW you should share your tipps how to play the game. Help them to build stronger Strongholds, tell them what Armor/Weapon/Skill works best in a Set etc.
4. Motivate your players - DH5 is full of ups and downs. Sometimes your SH has no defs, you pull some chests and do not find the disired item, you cannot beat a SH etc. Your guild is a platform to share these ups and downs with other people. To see your not the only one having problems helps.
These are some key points, there are a lot more. But enough for today.

Please forgive any misspellings - i'm not an native speaker ;-)
p.s.: Guild Tournament would be another place where your Guild could play together. But since the recent changes european players can not participate (ends 4 o clock in the morning) and usually only 3-5 guilds fight for TOP3.

I was a guild leader once until I accidentally promoted another officer to be a new guild leader. It wasn't my fault though because of the lack of the game. I asked GL to promote me back but they denied. So my suggestion is that can you promote me back? Because the new guild leader doesn't do anything to the guild. He doesn't even contribute 1 gold. I wrote to him in the chat but nothing happens.

DH5 is a game, right?. We play this game for fun and spend our leisure. Having fun is the motivation to play this game.  However, most of our guild members lost interest in the game. Especially in GW. Needless to say, in order to get a good score or ranking in gw, we need to commit so much time on it. The reward doesn’t balance with our effort. To be safe at Top 50, we need at least 10 to 12 GWs per week. We need so much time to accomplish this target. After that, we could only receive several hundred scrolls + T5 trinket (random outcome) + 3 minion chests. Frankly speaking, why do we need these rewards? We have other better and easier ways to collect those items in the game. I admire some our guildmates to keep on playing with me in GW with such “common” reward. If the reward system doesn’t change, people would leave the game sooner or later. Could you add some unique reward to the reward scheme? For example, even it is only a T5 trinket, could you specify the properties when you announce the gw. At least, we could have a target and give ourselves a reason on why I need to play so hard.

DH5 is a good game with great graphic. If you could make some minor adjustment, we are willing to spend more time on it
