DH5 Guide Blog

Sat Dec 12, 2015 7:49 am
Out of my fanatic obsession in analyzing and researching about the game, I've come up with a DH5 Guide blog that will feature posts about my thoughts, experiments and observations in DH5. It'll also discuss strategies on game play and game mechanism, and serve as a compilation of information throughout the game, updating as DH5 progresses.

If you're interested, here's the link:

Do give a shout-out if you've learnt something new or have something which you want me to look into.
Thanks for the support!

I typed out a Quick Response, but lost it when I clicked "Post a Reply" instead of "Submit" on accident :'( Anyway, no one else make the same mistake I did...

Zung, this is such a great idea!! I'm glad that you created a centralized and organized area for your thoughts, since all your insightful responses are spread across various threads and topics.

What of your responses has been the most helpful to me are minion strategies, since raiding is something I enjoy doing but I still have a lot to learn, since oftentimes my fights with the keeper are very close.

One suggestion though, in terms of format: I would suggest you include your overall suggested strategy at the top of each post, and the more detailed observations and data underneath. This would encourage new readership, since they realize they can benefit from reading your blog because they see your strategy, and so that returning readers can easily find the information they're most likely looking for.

For example, with the Ethera, I would have your overall suggested strategy after images of the Ethera: Champion in her two different modes, and then go into detail about what each of her moves are, and what to do in specific response. Those are my thoughts, and something I think you should think about as well.

I'd love to see what your strategies are in response to other minions and room are, as well. I have a light pit SH which I get to practice in, and I've noticed that if I run to the very back left corner, I can melee at will without having to worry about stepping into the activation zones of my ranging towers. In my SH's case, it's also out of range of the blighter that I have in the middle row, right side of the room--which is there due to how the game lets us see what's to the front left of us, but not so much the right.

Also, don't forget to promote your blog by linking to posts that happen to be relevant to your response! Looking forward to seeing your blog grow :D

Thank you all for your support!

@Emera: The post was initially intended to flesh out her movesets first so that the strategy would make sense.
Nonetheless, I'll incorporate your comments for the next minion strategy posts (planning to do one on the Voror type minions and one on the new SH immortal gatekeeper). Stay tuned!

Zung, organizationally-wise, I completely agree with your format; information accessibility-wise is where I'd try to figure out whether reformatting is viable or if wouldn't make much of a difference.

Also, I forgot to mention--the advice you gave me about blighters was super useful, where you use a skill, disorient the blighter, and then hack away. Fire spread (belt item) is what I go with and I didn't know that it literally knocks the blighter off its feet, lol.

Great blog. I've been viewing it occasionally especially for battling the Ethera as I had trouble fighting it myself.

Just one question though:
Do you also make video blogs? I mean, like strategies that are shown in video format (youtube for example)? If so, I'd love to see one for the Colossal Champions (one for each type) and the Ethera.
