Remember what happened right before we got 10* SMs? All the 8* SMs went on "sale" and occasionally there was a single 9* for some huge price (and you knew you needed to buy two of them so they could eventually be upgraded). I'm getting de ja vue (only the numbers are incremented by 1).

This is just like before a new region opens and (surprise surprise) all of a sudden there's this flood of current region weapons for "sale".

Of course it is possible.

Now, the results of such an effort are unlikely to be to your satisfaction. However, if you were due the item(s) for some accomplishment or victory, then a more positive outcome is reasonable.
