Update Incoming: Clan Changes!

Mon Jan 06, 2020 11:20 am
Today we'll be releasing our first update of the year, which will be focusing primarily on improving the clan experience. We hope you'll enjoy these changes. As ever, feel free to get in touch with any feedback or questions you might have.

Clan Fort Power!
We'll be reshuffling the way that clan skills work, and as a part of this change will be moving Ruptia's Clan Power over to the Clan Fort where it can be activated once a day by each clan member. The power itself works the same by reducing the timers of all active hatchery slots and is activated either with Clan Currency or a Clan Power Token. The strength of this skill is based on your Clan Fort Level, as such:
- Clan Fort Level 1: 40 minute reduction
- Clan Fort Level 2: 50 minute reduction
- Clan Fort Level 3: 60 minute reduction
- Clan Fort Level 4: 70 minute reduction
- Clan Fort Level 5: 80 minute reduction

New Clan Dragon: Feather!
Clans in League 5 will be able to compete to earn parts for this brand new Divine Clan Dragon, which are awarded for placing in the top positions on the weekly leaderboard. Feather Dragon parts are awarded to the top five clans each week, with the first place clan earning 5 parts and the remaining four clans earning 3 parts. A total of 50 are needed to collect this very special clan dragon, whose skill will be very useful to competitive clans...

Changes to Clan Powers
To help add better value to Clan Dragons, we've now changed the way their powers work: now they are activated for a clan event and will enable a passive ability throughout that event. We've designed these new passive powers so that the clan should decide which they want to use depending on the clan event being played. Note, however, that once an event begins the active Clan Dragon cannot be changed.

On top of this, Clan Dragons can be boosted with the new Power Boosters (explained below) that increase their level up to a maximum of 10. This enhances the benefit gained from the dragon's passive skill during an event that the clan is participating in. This boosted skill is then reset to level 1 before the next event, unless the clan did not participate in the event, in which case the boosted skill remains at the same level.

Here's what the different skills do:
- Chip: Decreases the time to craft a Fireball in the Clan Siege event, reducing further with each level.
- Amoura: Provides a percentage chance to refund a Fireball after shooting, increasing with each level.
- Ruptia: Provides a percentage chance to earn double points when feeding a dragon in the Great Dragon Race, increasing the chance per level.
- Brimstone: Increases the chance of receiving a Legendary Recipe in the Great Dragon Race, increasing per level.
- Boone: Provides a percentage chance to earn double points when feeding a dragon in the Sugar Rush event, increasing the chance per level.
- Gravelis: Generates a Legendary quest after the clan completes a certain number of quests (rerolling does not count). Reduces the number of required quest completions per level from 40 down to 4 at max level. This works in parallel with normal Legendary recipe generation.
- Striker: Decreases the time for War Energy to regenerate in Emerald Wars, further decreasing with each level.
- Kutter: Increases the Winstreak Score during Emerald Wars by a percentage based on level.
- Feather [NEW!]: Increases the points earned in every event by a percentage, increasing with each level.

Power Boosters!
Though an active level 1 Clan Dragon will always apply its passive effect during an event, this power can be enhanced up to level 10 by spending Power Boosters. These are collected alongside Clan Currency when completing Clan Quests but can *only* be earned when a clan event is not active, even if the clan is not participating in the event. Clan members collectively spend their Power Boosters on the activated Clan Dragon, increasing the effect its passive skill provides during an event.

Clan Events Now Appear in Event Screen
So you won't have to keep entering the clan screen to participate in an ongoing event and to help bring visibility to clan members, Clan Events will now appear in the list of events from the main event screen once they have begun.

Clan Profile Change
We've made a few improvements to the interface of the clan profile that should make things a little better to use, especially for clan leaders. Now you'll be able to use a drop-down list to sort clan members by MVP Score, Dragon Collector Points, Last Online, and Clan Rank. It'll also be possible to select "Applicants" from the drop-down list, which will let you see all the players that have applied to join your clan but that have not yet been approved or denied.

Emerald Wars Fixes
As you may already be aware, Emerald Wars has been affected by some unfortunate bugs - but we've squished these issues! No longer will players be able to quit a clan and rejoin to be able to regenerate their War Energy; now players will have the same Energy when they rejoin a clan. Additionally, the bug that caused rollbacks when revitalizing War Energy has been resolved, so you'll be able to once again continue the fight!

Skills in Dungeon Fixed
Some skills in the Dungeon Brawl did not have the correct behavior, and these have been fixed in this update. Divine Blessing (both masteries) should now work as intended when fighting in the Dungeon, while the Metal element mastery Final Vengeance will now correctly activate if killed through damage-over-time skills like Poison or Shadow.

New Badge: Master Dungeon
We've added a new badge into the game as a reward for dedicated Dungeon players. Defeat 5,000 Dragons in the Dungeon Brawl and this impressive achievement will be rewarded with this special new badge.

Updated Dragon Info Screen
We've given the Dragon Info screen - the one you'll see when inspecting a chosen dragon - a bit of a tweaking, improving the overall design and adding a tooltip menu to the skill info to provide extra detail on the damage and effects of the selected skill.

Thanks Adam!
It's a lot to take in by reading alone....
We'll have to see it all in action to get the hang of it. It will be interesting to see how it all works out.

Hi Pokemaster. So, yes, the current skills that the Clan Dragons have will be removed. Only Ruptia's skill will remain, but it would be attached to Rupita anymore but rather the Clan Fort - that is where it is activated.

Hi Adam!

If the update is about clans: Will there ever be an opportunity for co-leaders to delete co-leaders? Our leader is inactive. The co-leaders can promote members to co-leaders, but can't demote, or remove they from the clan. Many co-leaders finished the game over the years, so now, we have more co-leaders than member. Perhaps the solution would be that, the inactive (45+days) co-leaders automatically lose their rank.

Thanks!

Hi. This is not something that is being implemented in this update or even planned, but I can understand the frustration in cases like this. I will pass your feedback on to the team to consider.

Thanks for the input! :)

Thank you Adam!
That sound interesting although Im not sure how I feel about the tweak of the powers. Amoura was helpful as well as Gravelis or Striker for those who chose to fight the arena for the dragon. The arena dragons are hard to get and that would make it even hard to impossible.

Several questions as a start:
1. Will the baby clan dragons change their appearance once leveled up to grown up?
2. How often do we get a clan quest which could level up the clan dragon?
3. Would there be such quests available only witin the 1000 clan coins or will we need to do more quests even after geting our daily 1000 clan coins?
4. I would appreciate some statement as for he other changes in the clans we have been asking, if they are intended to be implemented in a future update. (for example the clan chat, recruiting, new titles)

Thanks
