Known Issues - High, Medium, Low

I'll make a (futile?) attempt to compile a list of issues in A8 that are important to us players.

Grouped by impact, please feel free to discuss to add/move items. I will keep the list updated based on your input:

HIGH
  • Gameplay: Remove rank requirements from events
  • Gameplay: Random game crashes after a race
  • NEW - General: Cloud restore can lead to millions of negative credits and loss of vehicles (rf. viewtopic.php?f=1505&t=689129&start=20)
  • General: Make Asphalt 8 Great Again!
  • General: Rampant cheating, mostly on Win, but also seen frequently on IOS/Android
  • NEW - Inventory: Fusion Coins Requirements way too high compared to earning rate
  • Inventory: Space needs to be increased massively to compensate for higher Pro Kit requirements
  • Mastery: Challenges locked after completion

MEDIUM
  • Mastery: Licenses lost after FLU
  • NEW - Gameplay: Use of Ultimate cars in TLE causes trip to Cheaterboard
  • NEW - Gameplay: High CPU usage (on Windows only?) (rf. viewtopic.php?f=1505&t=680235&start=200#p3853295)
  • NEW - Gameplay: Mass ban of innocent accounts and seemingly random Cheaterboard issues
  • Gameplay: Random bunny-hops
  • Gameplay: Random half-barrels off flat ramps
  • Gameplay: Patagonia uphills and Tenerife tunnel still unusable
  • Gameplay: car wrecking for no reason after simple straight jump from building
  • Gameplay: car gets stuck under guard rail or building for many seconds. Once it even happened when going up a ramp in a straight line!
  • Gameplay: respawn points are glitchy, can add multiple seconds to lap time (lethal in MP, e.g. London river jump)
  • Gameplay: quick replay - AIs *much* more aggressive
  • General/Gameplay: Game freezes for a few seconds, both in menus and during races
  • NEW - General: Customer Care form times out on mobile devices
  • Garage: New cars are mere "also ran"
  • [MOVED from high to low] Inventory: Pro Kit Requirements too high compared to drop rates (BEEN LOWERED WITH HOLIDAY UPDATE)
  • General: Token income is low compared to needed amounts
  • Special Events: R&D/CS/EDD are becoming too difficult/time-consuming - EVEN WORSE NOW
  • Special Events: AI are too aggressive in knockdown/flawless challenges
  • Special Events: New car events require massive resources/tokens (pay-to-win/pay-to-play)
  • TLE: rewards are too low for the effort spent

LOW
  • Garage: Make all cars available for everyone
  • Hall of Fame: Badge for Terzo festival disappeared
  • Inventory: Boxes are in seemingly random order
  • Inventory: Engine boxes look very similar to each other
  • Inventory: boxes screen needs slot counter
  • Inventory: Let us open multiple (all available) shuffle/split boxes at once
  • Inventory: Let us claim multiple fusion boxes at once

NIGGLES
  • The GL logo still appears upside-down at first.
  • First screen tap doesn't do anything no matter where I touch.
  • Stop giving us popup ads for special offers when you haven't decided on a price (ie price £0 or n/a).

Solved:
  • Garage: Remove fake speed
  • MP: matchmaking (>100 rank difference, should be <50)
  • MP: rebalancing resolved little if anything, still same OP cars rule the game
  • Gameplay: Glitches in Kings Highway and Lunar Liftoff tracks (~30s lap times)
  • Cards: Some pro Kit cards are not available in boxes (i3, MPI V12, MT, AT, etc)
  • Cards: Some BPs are not available in BP boxes
  • MP: MP tix are now unlimited, but are still rewarded in events
  • TLE: events are boring/repetitive
  • General: Free upgrades got capped

The problem is that we see all this as "issues" while GL sees them as "by definition" (except for a few that are clearly bugs).

And you forgot what FOR ME is the most important "issue", the inventory, still left unaltered despite the threefold increase in PRO requirements.

Another "issue" is the missing cards, BPs (irrelevant to me but relevant to many) and i3 and MPI V12 engine cards which only show up - rarely now - in the Finish Line boxes.

  • for me this is actually not a bad thing, because I did not win any car since 2..3 (?) updates, but new cars are useless. At least I do not miss them. (I do not play competitive MP)

Low. Fix the inventory, group boxes together by type, it should open with the card screen not the box screen (not sure why exactly but it just doesn't feel right ATM) but please put the available space count on the unopened box screen.

BPs are removed from all Boxes not rare drops and I3 and MPI V12 needs to stay a rare drop, otherwise we would be complaining the opposite.

All these I3 and MPI cards dropping and they only go to 1 car!  Easy to imagine.

I have seen some players complaining about licenses that were moved to mastery 12, which was already completed by most of their vehicles before the update, so they missed out on them.

Rebalancing:

I don't think GL is done. In the next update I expect that rebalancing will be applied to class D and some class C cars, so bye bye DeZir, 959 and i30N.  After that, I think they'll work on the standouts: M14A, ****, AIE, X2. So, much more to go and I think GL will work towards their original stated goal.  In the meantime, I think things are better MP-wise.

High- tle rewards not worth the effort.
Demotivation evidenced by the top x% criteria: a rank of 80-200 is even not making it to top 1%, particularly in tag races TLEs.

This should be high priority imho...
The shortest paths became Russian roulette.

% system definietely demotivates people, I have seen it in A9 too.

Though it automatically adjusts rewards for player number. Something for something.
